96 file tools that run in your browser instead of on someone else's computer.
The idea
Everyone needs to merge a PDF, compress a photo, or cut thirty seconds out of a video occasionally. The tools for this are all online now, and they all work the same way: upload, wait, download, hope the company deletes it.
That made sense when browsers could not do the work themselves. They can now. So the upload step is not a technical requirement any more — it is just how these services were built, and it is what lets them meter you.
Filery is what you get when you remove the server. 96 tools, all running locally, with no account, no file size cap, no daily quota and no watermark. Not as a promotion — structurally, because none of those limits have a reason to exist when the processing happens on your machine.
Who it is for
- Anyone handling something confidential: contracts, medical records, HR files, unreleased work, journalistic material.
- Anyone with large files, who is tired of watching an upload bar.
- Anyone who has hit "you have used your 2 free tasks today" at the wrong moment.
- Anyone who works somewhere with restricted internet, or on a plane.
- Anyone who would simply rather not create another account to rotate a PDF.
How it stays free
Unobtrusive advertising, placed where it does not get between you and the tool. That is it. There is no premium tier gating features, because the marginal cost of a conversion here is zero — there is no server bill that needs covering per file.
If we ever add a paid option it will be to remove ads, never to unlock a tool or lift a limit.
What we will not do
- Add a watermark to your output.
- Require an account.
- Cap how many files you can process.
- Quietly start uploading files "for performance".
- Claim a tool works better than it does.
That last one matters to us. Several tools here carry a visible notice about their limitations — PDF to Word, PDF compression, video logo removal. Those notices are on the tool page itself, before you use it, not buried in a help article. We would rather you knew up front than felt misled afterwards.
