About this tool

Resizing sounds trivial and mostly is, but the quality of the resampling matters more than people expect. Naive scaling produces aliasing on fine detail — think brick walls, text, and fabric patterns turning into shimmering moiré. This tool uses high-quality filtered resampling so downscaled images stay crisp rather than getting that characteristic cheap-thumbnail look.

One honest note about enlarging: no resize algorithm can add detail that the sensor never recorded. Scaling a 400-pixel image to 1600 pixels gives you a bigger, softer version of the same information. Questions

Will resizing make my image blurry?
Shrinking is safe and usually sharpens perceived detail. Enlarging is where blur comes from: the extra pixels have to be invented, so a 200 percent scale-up of a small image will always look soft. What does "longest edge" mean?
